Ubifrance and Le Havre Développement have joined forces to organize China Europa 2011 in three pilot cities selected by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce for their commitment to the creation of low carbon investment areas: Shenyang, Chongqing and Chengdu.

Port du Havre Terminal de FranceWithin the framework of the MOU signed in November 2010 between Christine Lagarde and Chen Deming (Chinese Minister of Commerce), concerning economic and commercial cooperation in terms of eco-districts, UBIFRANCE received a high level delegation conducted by the MOFCOM (Chinese Ministry of Commerce ). The delegation members were representatives of the memorandum pilot cities: Shenyang, Chongqing and Chengdu.

Some hundred French eco-enterprises took part in the workshop organized in Paris on May 5th. They were given information on major environmental projects within the circumscription of the three cities and their requirements in relation to the French offer. On the afternoon of May 5th, nine of them gave presentations of their expertise directly to the Chinese delegation.

On May 6th, the delegation went on a series of site visits illustrating the French eco-city approach. This program was organized with the participation of two event sponsors: GDF Suez and Veolia.
